I'm about to take on a great challenge. NaNoWrimo or National Novel Writing Month. The goal is to write a 50,000 word novel all in the month of November. I'll keep you updated on my progress once November rolls along...
For now, here are my plot ideas...
Possible Plot #1- Baseball player goes down a bad road (Steroids, drugs, crime) but overcomes those vices and has a great career.
-This plot is pretty general, and I might do this one for NaNo08
Possible Plot #2- Boy and girl meet and realize that they share one common interest- a baseball team (team is to be determined). They start dating, with all of their dates being at the team's games. All they talk about is that team. Their relationship is going great, until one day, the team moves to a city far away. The relationship falls apart, and the couple realizes that they have nothing else in common. There will be some cheesy cliche ending. My only idea for a possible ending would be that they realize that it wasn't the team that they loved, it was sharing the team with the other person.
-This plot would probably work, but I hate writing romance stories. I'm pretty sure that I'll pick this one if I don't get any other ideas.

Writing what you hate is a recipe for not finishing Nano. Maybe you can add in an external conflict for some action and perhaps relegate the relationship to a subplot.
